Keep Your Home Cool With an AC Inspection in Edmonton

Expert Cooling System Diagnostics From Edmonton’s Trusted HVAC Team

There is nothing quite like that first real heatwave of the year to remind you how much you rely on your air conditioner. You expect it to work the moment you flip the switch, but after months of sitting idle, your system might not be ready for the heavy lifting. We've seen plenty of families in the Edmonton area deal with unexpected failures right when the temperatures peak. That is why we focus on catching the small issues before they turn into major headaches.

At Always Plumbing & Heating, we've spent more than 28 years helping our neighbors stay comfortable regardless of what the Alberta weather is doing. As a 2025 Canadian Business Award winner, we take our responsibility to this community seriously. We don't just glance at your unit. We perform a deep, technical AC inspection in Edmonton that looks at every component, ensuring your system runs safely and efficiently when you need it most.

Are you starting to notice strange sounds or a slight rise in your energy bills? These are often the first signs that your cooling system needs a professional eye. We bring the right tools and nearly three decades of experience to every driveway, giving you a clear, honest assessment of your equipment's health.

Don't wait for the first heatwave to find out your AC is struggling. Reach out to our award-winning team at (587) 742-1359 or contact us online today.

What to Expect During a Professional AC Inspection in Edmonton

When we arrive at your home for an AC inspection in Edmonton, we aren't just there to make sure the air feels cold. We dig into the mechanical heart of your system to ensure every part is pulling its weight. Our process starts with a full assessment of the thermostat and controls to make sure your home is actually communicating with the unit outside. If those signals are crossed, your system works twice as hard for half the comfort. It's a common issue we see in older neighborhoods, and it is usually the first thing we check.

We follow a rigorous checklist that covers everything from refrigerant levels to electrical connections. Our technicians examine the evaporator coils, clean the condensate drain line, and test the blower motor for proper airflow. Why do we go that deep? Because a small clog in a drain line can lead to water damage in your basement before you even know there is a leak. By the time we finish our air conditioning services, you will have a complete picture of your unit's health.

Our Step-by-Step Inspection Process

  • Electrical safety check: We tighten all connections and measure voltage and current on motors to prevent unexpected shorts or blown capacitors.
  • Refrigerant pressure test: Our team ensures your levels match the manufacturer specifications so your compressor doesn't overheat during a heatwave.
  • Mechanical lubrication: We apply high-quality lubricant to all moving parts to reduce friction and eliminate those annoying squeaks or grinding sounds.
  • Condenser coil cleaning: We remove the dust, dandelion fluff, and debris that naturally build up and choke your system’s ability to release heat.

The goal is to leave you with a system that runs so quietly and efficiently you forget it’s even there. We don't believe in guesswork, and we don't think you should either. That is why we provide a written report of our findings once the job is done. It gives you the clarity you need to make smart decisions about your home comfort without any pressure or mystery.

We back our work with strong promises. If we fix an issue and it is not fixed right, our “Fixed Right or It’s Free” guarantee means you are not paying twice for the same problem. Our goal is to stand behind the work we do, so you feel confident scheduling inspections and repairs with us year after year.

When To Book An AC Inspection in Edmonton

Knowing when to schedule an inspection can be tricky. People often wait until their system stops working completely, which usually means a more stressful and urgent call. Planning ahead is often better, especially with the way summers can warm up quickly here. That is why many homeowners choose to schedule an AC Inspection in Edmonton during the spring months. This timing gives us a chance to check the system after a long winter off and before the first stretch of hot weather. If we do find anything that needs attention, there is usually time to address it before you are relying on the AC every day.

There are also clear warning signs that an inspection is a smart idea, even in the middle of the season. These might include rooms that never quite cool down, the unit cycling on and off more often than usual, or musty smells when the system starts. If you notice higher electricity bills without any obvious reason, it might be time for the professional AC Inspection that Edmonton residents rely on to restore efficiency.

If your air conditioner is older, regular inspections can help keep an eye on wear and tear. For newer systems, having an inspection done from time to time can help confirm that everything is set up correctly and running the way it should. In both cases, the goal is to catch small issues before they turn into last minute emergency calls. We are always happy to talk through what you are noticing and help you decide if an inspection right now makes sense. Even a short conversation can give you a better idea of whether you are dealing with a common quirk or something that deserves a closer look from our team.

StraightForward Pricing & Easy Scheduling

Cost uncertainty is one of the biggest reasons people put off calling for service. With StraightForward Pricing®, we work to remove that worry. This cycle is facilitated by an outdoor unit (containing a compressor and a condenser coil) and an indoor unit (with an expansion valve and an evaporator coil), connected by a circuit of refrigerant.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I get my AC inspected?

Most homeowners benefit from an AC inspection about once a year, typically in the spring before hot weather arrives. If your system is older, or you use it heavily, you might prefer more frequent checkups. We can help you choose a schedule that fits your home and comfort goals.

What do your technicians check during an inspection in Edmonton?

During an inspection, our technicians look at key components like the indoor and outdoor units, electrical connections, drain lines, thermostat communication, and overall system operation. We watch a full cooling cycle, listen for unusual noises, and check for visible issues, then explain what we find in clear, simple terms.

Will you pressure me to replace my air conditioner?

No, our goal is to give you honest information and options. If a repair makes sense, we explain it. If your system is nearing the end of its life, we will say so and outline choices without high pressure tactics. With StraightForward Pricing®, you can decide what works for your budget.

How much does an AC inspection cost?

Inspection costs vary based on the type of system and any extra work you choose, but our StraightForward Pricing® means you see the full price before we begin. We discuss costs clearly, answer your questions, and never move ahead with additional work without your approval.

How long will the inspection appointment take?

Most AC inspections fit within a standard appointment window, often around an hour or so, depending on your system and what we find. Our technicians arrive prepared, work efficiently, and respect your time. If they discover issues that could extend the visit, they will discuss that with you first.
