Duct Installation in Edmonton
New & Replacement Ductwork for Edmonton Homes
Ductwork carries heated and cooled air between your HVAC equipment and the rooms in your home. You may need new ductwork when finishing a basement, adding a room, changing the floor plan, replacing HVAC equipment, or addressing damaged ducts or restricted airflow.
The right project starts with the entire distribution system, not just the most obvious problem area. An assessment should consider equipment compatibility, available routing space, supply and return air locations, finished walls or ceilings, and the condition of any ducts that may remain in use.
Request a duct installation assessment in Edmonton by calling (587) 742-1359. Tell us what you’re changing in your home, and we can determine the appropriate next step.
When New or Replacement Ductwork May Be Needed
The right scope depends on your home and how much of the current system can remain. The project may involve a complete distribution system or a focused change to specific duct runs.
Common reasons to request an assessment include:
- New construction: Installing routes that distribute supply air and provide return-air pathways throughout a new home.
- Basement renovation: Extending or modifying ducts for newly finished rooms or a changed layout.
- Home addition: Evaluating how added rooms can connect to the existing heating and cooling system.
- HVAC replacement: Checking whether the current distribution system is compatible with new heating or cooling equipment.
- Replacement ductwork: Addressing sections that are visibly damaged, poorly routed, or unsuitable for continued use.
- Airflow concerns: Investigating persistent temperature differences, excessive duct noise, or weak airflow in certain rooms.

A water softener works by removing minerals that cause water hardness, like calcium and magnesium, through a process called ion exchange. In your system, hard water passes through a tank filled with resin beads that are coated with sodium ions (salt beads). As the hard water contacts these beads, the calcium and magnesium ions are swapped for sodium ions. This exchange softens the water, which then flows through your plumbing system, reducing scale buildup and improving water quality for use in your home.

What to Review Before Approving New Ductwork
A proposal should identify the affected areas, which existing components will remain, and how the new runs will connect to the HVAC equipment. Access matters too. Routing through an open basement ceiling is different from working around finished walls, insulation, plumbing, wiring, and structural obstacles.
Important installation considerations include:
- Duct sizing: The dimensions needed to move the intended amount of air through each run.
- Routing: The length, bends, transitions, and physical space between the equipment and each room.
- Supply registers: The points where heated or cooled air enters living spaces.
- Return-air pathways: The routes that carry air back to the heating or cooling equipment.
- Connections and support: The materials, joints, and supports needed for a secure installation.
- Finished areas: The access points and penetrations required through ceilings, walls, or insulated spaces.
Ask what can be reviewed at completion, including airflow or operating concerns and whether related equipment or controls need attention.
Do You Need Installation, Repair, or Duct Sealing?
Full replacement may make sense when ducts are extensively damaged, incompatible with new equipment, poorly routed, or inaccessible for a dependable repair. New supply or return runs may also be appropriate when a renovation or addition changes the area served by the system.
Repair or duct sealing may be the narrower option when the existing layout remains suitable and the problem is limited to an accessible connection, air leak, or insulation issue. These services aren’t interchangeable with air duct installation, so the cause and condition of the problem should be assessed first.
Uneven temperatures don’t always point to the ducts alone. HVAC equipment capacity, controls, ventilation, and home insulation can also affect indoor comfort, so persistent airflow problems should be considered in the context of the complete system.
Service in Edmonton Since 1998
Always Plumbing & Heating has provided plumbing and HVAC services in Edmonton since 1998. Our certified team receives continuous training for installation, repair, and maintenance work. That gives you one company to contact when a duct installation request may also involve heating, cooling, ventilation, or gas line installation.
We have more than 24 plumbers and HVAC technicians supported by 17 service trucks. We also offer 24/7 service when an urgent heating or cooling problem needs attention.
A Clear Conversation About Your Ductwork Project
When you contact us, tell us which rooms are affected, what HVAC equipment is involved, and whether the project is tied to construction or renovation. Photos of visible damage and details about finished ceilings or walls can provide useful context before an on-site assessment.
Depending on your home and its current system, the appropriate scope may involve new runs, replacement sections, a changed route, or an evaluation alongside HVAC equipment work. We can explain the proposed work before you decide how to proceed. With StraightForward Pricing®, you’ll know the cost before approved work begins.
Established Service Backed by an A+ BBB Rating
Always Plumbing & Heating is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and maintains an A+ rating. That independent standing gives you another useful point of reference when choosing a contractor to work on your home’s air distribution system.
Request Your Edmonton Ductwork Assessment
Contact us to arrange an assessment for new, replacement, extended, or renovation-related ductwork. We can review the affected areas and existing HVAC equipment before confirming a scope, schedule, or price.
You don’t need to diagnose the problem before reaching out. Share the airflow symptoms, planned home changes, and any visible damage so we can begin with the information you have.
