Professional Ductless Mini-Split Installation in Edmonton

Efficient Cooling Solutions with Local Expertise

We know the struggle of having that one room in your Edmonton home that just won’t stay cool in July or warm in January. Maybe you’re finishing a basement, adding a suite, or living in one of our beautiful older neighborhoods where installing bulky ductwork just isn't an option. At Always Plumbing & Heating, we’ve spent over 25 years helping our neighbors solve these exact comfort puzzles. A mini split installation Edmonton residents choose isn't just about a new gadget on the wall; it’s about finally being able to enjoy your entire home without worrying about hot spots or skyrocketing energy bills.

When we come into your home, we aren't looking to just "sell a unit." We’re looking at your space through the lens of two decades of local experience to find the most efficient way to keep you comfortable. We live and work in the same climate you do, so we understand that reliability is everything. Our goal is to provide a straightforward, stress-free setup that gives you precise control over your indoor climate, ensuring your family stays cozy regardless of what the Alberta weather is doing outside.

Ready to find the perfect temperature? Call us today at (587) 742-1359, or contact us online to schedule your consultation.

Mastering the Mini Split Installation Edmonton Homes Need

When it comes to a proper mini split installation, Edmonton homeowners often ask us where the best placement for these units should be. We don't just bolt a unit to the first available wall; we analyze the airflow of your specific room to ensure the duct-free systems operate at peak efficiency. Our process begins with a thorough evaluation of your home’s layout, identifying the ideal spot for both the indoor air handler and the outdoor condenser to ensure maximum performance during our humid summer days.

Precision is the hallmark of our work at Always Plumbing & Heating. We handle the specialized drilling, refrigerant line security, and electrical connections with the care that comes from decades of hands-on experience in the field. We make sure the outdoor unit is mounted on a proper stand or pad to keep it clear of Edmonton snow buildup, ensuring your system breathes easily all year long. Our technicians take pride in a clean workspace, making sure that once the installation is complete, the only evidence we were there is the perfect temperature in your room.

Choosing a professional setup means avoiding the common pitfalls of DIY kits that often lead to refrigerant leaks or electrical hazards. We ensure every connection is flared perfectly and vacuum-tested, which is critical for the longevity of your investment. By focusing on these technical details, we provide a localized climate control solution that stands up to the unique demands of the Alberta environment, giving you peace of mind that your home comfort is in expert hands.

Versatile Comfort for Every Season: Benefits of Ductless Systems

While many people think of these units only for cooling, a ductless heat pump installation Edmonton residents invest in provides incredible value during the shoulder seasons. These systems are remarkably efficient at providing supplemental heat when the temperature starts to dip in September, allowing you to keep your main furnace off longer. This multi-zone heating and cooling approach means you only pay to condition the rooms you are actually using, which is a game-changer for reducing monthly utility costs.

The beauty of these wall-mounted air conditioners lies in their sophisticated inverter technology. Unlike traditional systems that are either 100% on or 100% off, our ductless mini-split installation in Edmonton features units that ramp up or down to maintain a steady temperature. This results in:

  • Significantly lower energy consumption compared to window units or portable ACs.
  • Ultra-quiet operation that won't disrupt your sleep or your neighborhood's peace.
  • Advanced air filtration that helps remove dust and allergens from your indoor air.
  • Dehumidification modes that take the "heavy" feeling out of our hottest summer afternoons.

We’ve seen how these compact cooling units transform the way people live in their homes. By integrating energy-efficient cooling solutions, you aren't just adding an appliance; you’re upgrading your quality of life. Whether it's a dedicated home office that gets too much sun or a master bedroom that stays too warm, our split-system HVAC options provide the precise control you’ve been missing, backed by our commitment to quality service.

Your home deserves the best in energy-efficient cooling. Phone our expert team at (587) 742-1359, or contact us online to get started.

Is Ductless Right For Your Home in Edmonton

A ductless mini split is a compact heating and cooling system made up of an outdoor unit and one or more indoor heads mounted on the wall or ceiling. Each indoor unit serves a specific area, often called a zone, and is connected to the outdoor unit with small refrigerant lines. Instead of relying on large ductwork throughout the house, these systems deliver conditioned air directly into the space where you need it.

In many Edmonton homes, ductless is a strong fit for problem areas that your main system cannot handle well. Older character homes that never had central air, finished basements that feel chilly even when the main floor is comfortable, and garage workshops where you want heat in winter and cooling in summer are common examples. A ductless system can also be a good choice for bonus rooms over the garage or third-floor lofts that stay too warm.

Cold weather is a real concern here, and we take that seriously when we design a system. Modern ductless heat pump technology can provide useful heat even in colder temperatures, especially when paired with your existing furnace. Many homeowners use their mini split to take the edge off in shoulder seasons and to keep key rooms comfortable on cold days, while still using their furnace for whole-home heating when it is very cold.

Beyond comfort, ductless systems can give you more control and help manage energy use. You set the temperature separately for each zone instead of conditioning the whole house for one warm or cool room. The indoor heads are quiet, so they work well in bedrooms and home offices. Compared to relying on space heaters, window units, or fans, ductless tends to be more efficient and permanent.

Here are some situations where ductless often makes sense:

  • Finishing a basement or attic where extending ductwork would be costly
  • Adding or upgrading a rental suite that needs its own temperature control
  • Keeping a garage, workshop, or home gym comfortable year-round
  • Solving hot and cold spots in two-storey homes with uneven temperatures
  • Improving comfort in older homes that rely on radiators or baseboard heat

If any of these sound familiar, our team can visit your home, look at your layout, and help you decide if a mini split is the right fit.

Most models are made up of an enclosed container where heat is applied to water, which is then circulated throughout a system of pipes to a particular heating implement, such as a radiator, element, or coil to disburse heat.

In the case of radiant heating systems, sometimes referred to as heated floors, tubes can be placed in the floor, ceiling, wall, or another surface (like a countertop). Water is then heated through the boiler, and circulated through the pipes, which radiate heat throughout the space.
